[since 15 November 2000] The Chief Minister is appointed by the President.
House of Representatives [unicameral] (81 Seats) 50
Members are elected by direct popular vote in single-member constituencies using the first-past-the-post system, 10 members are appointed by the President, 5 are reserved
for government-appointed regional commissioners, and 15 are filled by women on a party basis in proportion to the elected
seats. One seat is reserved for the Attorney-General; members serve 5-year terms.
